Sony gears up for PlayStation Vita’s Japan launch

Sony’s long-awaited PlayStation Vita portable game machine hits stores in Japan on Saturday, with the company predicting brisk sales even though the launch has missed much of the holiday shopping season.

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. President Andrew House told reporters Thursday that pre-launch orders had exceeded the allocation made for those keenest to get their hands on the device “extremely quickly” in Japan. He declined to reveal numbers.

The PS Vita goes on sale in North America and Europe on Feb. 22.

Enthusiasm for the new machine among gamers could lead to some shortages at first, House said.

Sharkoon Debuts the Tauron Midi-Tower PC Case

Sharkoon Technologies has finished off the work week by rolling out a brand new PC chassis, the midi-tower known as Tauron which measures 510 (L) x 205 (W) x 495 (H) mm, weights 9.5kg, and comes in three color versions – black with a red interior, black with a green interior, and all-white.

The Tauron supports micro ATX and ATX motherboards and has a top-placed I/O panel (2 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0 and 2 x audio ports), mesh panels both on top and in front, an acrylic side window, two exposed 5.25-inch bays, and seven removable 2.5/3.5-inch drive trays.

Brits never stray far from their online life

More than 20% say they always have a web-enabled device within 10 feet

Many Brits claim they never stray more than 10 feet away from an Internet-enabled device, according to new research.

A survey of 3,000 people across the UK found that 22% say today’s “always-on” culture means they always have a device nearby that will enable them to get online.

This means that the average working person does an additional 3.35 hours of work each week, with no additional pay.
