Kobo quietly joins the ad-supported party, rolls-out the $99 Kobo Touch with Offers

Perhaps taking a lesson from Amazon, it looks like those shopping for a Kobo Touch reader will now have another option when it comes time to make a purchasea less expensive (and ad-supported) model. Yup, just like the Kindle with Special Offers, Kobo now has the Kobo Touch with Offers.

In terms of the Kobo reader, this one comes priced at $99.99, which for those keeping track is a $40 drop in price as compared to the $139.99 Kobo Touch without offers.

Kobo Touch with Offers presents you with sponsored screens and valuable offers when your device is powered off or in sleep mode, and in other discreet places that are always outside of the reading experience, like on the bottom of your home screen.
